The Bangladesh Parliament (Jatiyo Sangshad) is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. It is unicameral and consists of 350 members, who are elected by direct popular vote for a term of 5 years. Of the 350 members, 300 are elected from single-member constituencies and 50 are reserved for women who are elected by the directly elected members.
The current 11th Jatiyo Sangshad was elected in December 2018. The Bangladesh Awami League won 257 seats, followed by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party with 79 seats. The remaining seats were won by independent candidates and other parties.
